The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) led a comprehensive delegation visit to Germany this week. The visit included meetings with Israeli defense industries at the Enforce-Tac exhibition in Nuremberg, as well as high-level discussions with senior officials at the German Ministry of Defense on advancing joint projects and industrial cooperation between Israeli and German defense industries.
As part of the visit, the delegation conducted a historic visit to the state of North Rhine-Westphalia - the first time a delegation from the IMOD has visited a German federal state.
The delegation, led by SIBAT Director, Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yair Kulas, was joined by Israel’s Defense Attaché to Germany, Col. Aviran Lerer, and visited German defense companies and innovation hubs across the state, which stands as one of Europe’s leading economic and technological centers.
In a meeting with Minister for Federal Affairs, Europe, International Affairs, and Media of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Nathanael Liminski, as well as representatives from industry, academia, and defense start-ups, the Head of SIBAT presented key insights gained from recent years of combat operations and their implications for the defense technologies of the future.
The visit is part of the Ministry’s strategy to strengthen international defense partnerships and expand Israeli defense exports. It marks a significant step in deepening the strategic ties between Israel and Germany.
