The Government decided today; September 11th, to leave the 19 synagogues in
Gush Katif "as is". This decision canceled a previous decision to demolish
the synagogues in order to prevent sacrilege.
All items will be removed from the synagogues and they will be left as bare
buildings, with a sign marking each of them as a holy place.

Status report of demolition - August 24, 2005 (17:30)

Demolition of the settlements is carried out according to the Government resolution.
Demolition takes place after evacuating the belongings that were left behind.
Accordingly, by august 24, 17:30, the following settlements, no longer exist:
Kerem Atzmona, Peat Sadeh, Slav, Tel Katifa, Dugit, Rafiah Yam, Kfar Yam, Shirat Yam, Morag and Ganim.
Demolition continues in Nisanit, Gadid, Nezer Hazani, Bdolach, Elei Sinai and Kadim.

Status Report - 22nd August 2005 (22:00)

217 buildings in Peat Sadeh, Dugit and Ganei Tal have been demolished and the settlements no longer exist.
All day long, demolition took place in Nisanit, Raphiah Yam and Morag and will continue on August 23rd.
On Tuesday, August 23rd demolition will commence in Slav, Tel Ktifa, Gadid, Nir Chazani, Kfar Yam, Shirat Yam.
In Northern Samaria, demolition will commence in Ganim.

The Ministry of Defense updates its time table concerning the Disengagement Plan:
Evacuation of belongings will end by September 1st instead of 13th.
Demolition of the settlements according to the Government decision will end by September 8th instead of the planned 21st.

Teams of the Ministry of Defense evacuated Kerem Atzmona on Friday.
Packaging teams accompanied by representatives of the families, packed the belongings that were left behind.
9 security rooms were taken from the and 6 more will be taken to undergo retrofit on Sunday, August 21st, to undergo renovation.
By three o'clock all the temporary structures, apart from one that was used as a synagogue, were demolished.
Kerem Atzmona is the first settlement that underwent demolition, in accordance with the Government's decision.

Almost 650 containers were brought by the Ministry of Defense to store the belongings of the families in the settlement's of the Gaza Strip.
Most of the 370 filed containers, were transported to Kastina for storage.
The evacuation will continue on Sunday, August 21st.

Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen (Ret) Amos Yaron visited the staging area near Ashkelon in order to get a first hand impression of the Ministry's preparedness.
He expressed his satisfaction from the preparations and the devotion expressed by the teams to carry out their roles in the best professional manner.
"Remember" he said to the people " you are the hands of the families who left their belongings behind. Treat them gently and with sensitivity"
he added " you are not only touching their possessions but fragments of their possessions but fragments of their lives. It is up to you to assist them in their most difficult hours."
